Made in Australia from our original hand painted design, these earrings are printed with eco-friendly inks onto light weight, sustainably grown hoop pine and paired with stainless steel hoops, perfect for sensitive ears!
The echidna is a fascinating and ancient Australian animal that, like the platypus, is a monotreme (an egg-laying mammal). Covered in coarse fur and sharp spines, echidnas are well-protected and incredibly shy. They have no teeth, but use a long, sticky tongue to catch ants, termites, and other insects, which they grind up with hard pads in their mouth.
When threatened, they curl into a ball or dig quickly into the ground, leaving only their spines exposed. Echidnas are found all over Australia, from deserts to forests, and are surprisingly good climbers and swimmers. They’re mostly solitary and have a slow, waddling walk. The female lays a single leathery egg into her pouch, and the tiny baby (called a puggle) hatches after about 10 days.

Avoid exposing your earrings to water, salt, sun, lotions and makeup and do not wear whilst sleeping. Earrings are best stored in a dry room in a box or on a stand to avoid getting scratched.
